About Us

(L-R: Sydney, Luis, Anthony, Tyler)

Somewhere between just enough and way too much, Discord Theory blends honest introspection, raw pop punk energy, and gritty post-hardcore intensity with breakdowns designed to move the room. Formed in sunny Tampa, FL in 2017, the band is led by Ecuadorian frontman Luis Giler’s commanding vocals and subversive songwriting, alongside Anthony Rogue’s groove-heavy bass, Sydney Reinfrank’s razor-sharp guitar, and Tyler Austin’s hard-hitting drums.

Building on their relentless work ethic and adrenaline-charged performances, Discord Theory has carved out their place in the Southeast DIY scene. They’ve hit the road with other up and comers FELICITY and Hollyglen, shared stages with genre staples like Bayside, Hail The Sun, and Geese, and lit up festivals including Gasparilla Music Fest and Treefort Fest.

Their 2018 debut EP Alas introduced their sound with standout tracks like “What I Do Best” and “Tidal Wave.” They followed it up with singles like “Flashpoint!,” “Stranded,” and “Breaking the Wheel,” plus an emo-tinged cover of Billie Eilish’s “Bad Guy,” each pushing their emotionally charged, genre-blending style into bolder territory.

In 2023, Eight Ways From Dire Straits marked a major leap forward. Produced by Lee Dyess (Mayday Parade, From First To Last, Against Me!), the full-length album weaves a nautical atmosphere with post-emo tones, anthemic indie flair, and adventurous progressive ambition. Tracks like “Cabin Fever” and “Call of Destiny” shift between crushing unfiltered passion and soaring hooks, while “Let Me In” features swancore favorite Andrés, adding a layer of melodic elegance that pushes the track into standout territory. With a dynamic tracklist and bold artistic vision, the album firmly established Discord Theory as a must-watch act in the alternative scene.

Their newest single, “Letter From Atlas,” combines polished pop sensibilities with sincere storytelling, navigating the turmoil of uncertainty while ultimately finding solace in unconditional love.

Known for high-energy shows packed with unforgettable moments that stay with you long after the final chord, Discord Theory’s dedicated “DTFam” continues to grow as new music and tours are on the horizon.
